Thirteenth century tomb was found in western Mongolia. A thirteenth century tomb containing the remains of a human has been discovered in Bayan-Ulgii province of Mongolia. Scientists of the Institute of History and Archeology at the Mongolian Academy of Sciences defined that the rock tomb belongs to the XIII century. Assuming this dating is correct; it could be said that the person buried might have served under Chinghis Khan or Kubilai Khan. The grave contains numerous items such as the dead body in a wooden coffin, a saddle, stirrups, bow with arrow case, wooden cap, and a well preserved felt ongo, an object of worship to medieval Mongolians, and a traditional cotton costume. The scientists noted that the bow, arrow case, saddle and the traditional costume were all intact and the felt ongo has been found in this form for the first time.
