Mongolia has issued a pair of coins in commemoration of Fidel Castro.
Fidel Castro appears on Mongolian coins. Mongolia has issued a pair of coins in commemoration of Fidel Castro. The pair of coins features a portrait of the ex-Cuban President in traditional fatigues and forage cap. The Mongolian images of "El Comandante" have been struck as gold and silver 1,000-togrog coins. Both have been produced by Lichtenstein’s Coin Invest Trust. Many older Mongolians, remember, the days when Cuba and Mongolia shared a common ideology and ties of genuine friendship. Today, some of the legacy of Fidel Castro is still highly praised internationally, in particular Cuba's health care system. Cuba’s revolutionary and political leader Fidel Castro died on Nov. 25, 2016.
