President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj attended the 17th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit of the Council of Heads of State in Astana, Kazakhstan.

President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj attended the 17th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit of the Council of Heads of State in Astana, Kazakhstan. Mongolia seeks to actively engage in political and economic affairs in the Asia Pacific region, and regards SCO as an important channel through which Mongolia can partake in regional multilateral cooperation. Mongolia gained the status of SCO observer state in 2004. President Ts.Elbegdorj gave a speech expressing the position of Mongolia during the summit and met with delegates from other countries including the Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
