Mongolia to fully secure domestic demand for wheat.
Mongolia can now fully secure its domestic demand for wheat and potatoes, the country's Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry said. Mongolia harvested a total 409,600 tons of wheat and 160,900 tons of potato this autumn, respectively up 172,600 tons and 44,500 tons compared with the previous year, the ministry said in a statement. Mongolia is the most sparsely populated country in the world, with a population of around 3 million, and a significant portion of the country's population live from breeding livestock.
