Mongolia Co-Hosts Side Event on Infrastructure for Zero Hunger

On July 17th, Mongolia co-hosted a side event titled “Bridging Gaps: Infrastructure’s Role in Achieving Zero Hunger” on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

On July 17th, Mongolia co-hosted a side event titled “Bridging Gaps: Infrastructure’s Role in Achieving Zero Hunger” on the sidelines of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development. At the event,   Deputy Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations, emphasized the importance of developing sustainable food production in Mongolia’s agricultural sector. He highlighted the challenges, such as high transportation and infrastructure costs, as well as deficient investment in development. He also highlighted national initiatives aimed at addressing these challenges, while urging Landlocked Developing Countries facing similar food security issues to strengthen cooperation through regional and international platforms. Additionally, as Co-Chair of the Intergovernmental Preparatory Committee for the Third United nations Conference on Landlocked developing countries, he underscored the importance of infrastructure connectivity improvements in the new program of action on Landlocked developing countries for the next decade. This event was held in collaboration with Poland, Botswana, the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction, United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, and the World Food Programme.
