Celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Australia Awards Program in Mongolia, the Australian Embassy and the Australia Awards South Asia and Mongolia (AASAM) organized the 2023 Australia Awards Regional Alumni Workshop in Ulaanbaatar from Monday to Today. The workshop brought together over 40 Australia Awards alumni. With the theme "Building Back Better: Climate Resilience and Green Economic Recovery," participants engaged in knowledge sharing and exchanged experiences on fostering climate resilience and promoting sustainable green development at the national and regional levels. The Australia Awards program promotes diversity and inclusiveness, with women comprising approximately 70% of awardees. Moreover, the program aims to increase the participation of individuals with disabilities and those from rural areas. In recognition of the significant impact of the Australia Awards, the Australian Ambassador announced an increase in scholarships to 15 awardees in 2024. The Australia Awards in Mongolia operates under a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of Australia and Mongolia and is managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
