Herders in heavy winter condition be supported. The UN Food and Agriculture Organization reportedly said to donate US$ 1.4 million in support of Mongolian herders suffering from the harsh winter condition. The aid money will be used to buy warm clothes, medicine and food to assist herders, in addition to hay, animal feed and vaccinations to keep livestock alive. According to the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA), snow has covered more than 70% of the total territory. Currently, 98 soums or districts in 18 provinces have constant heavy snowfall and 113 soums in 20 provinces have frequent snowfall. As of the past week, more than 416,000 or 0.7 percent of total herds of cattle have been killed.
