Under the amendment, persons who give and accept bribes will both be imposed on severe punishment. The penalties for corruption offences are imprisonment, along with a fine and the confiscation of property. According to the Transparency International, the world's watchdog on corruption, Mongolia scored 39 points out of 100 on the 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index.
