Mongolia has launched national literacy festival under the theme of "National Script-Independence" across the country.
Mongolia has launched national literacy festival under the theme of "National Script-Independence" across the country, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Sports. The four-day festival is co-organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, Department of Culture and Arts, National Library, National Council on Language Policy and National University. The annual event will witness a series of seminars, cultural exhibitions and meetings to display and promote the literary history of the landlocked Asian country. Also, competitions relating to traditional literature, language and calligraphy will be held nationwide. Mongolia considers great deals about literacy and therefore Mongolian literacy rate is 99.7 percent in the population making Mongolia one of the most literate countries in the world.
