The 50thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey was celebrated
The 50thanniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey was celebrated yesterday. On the occasion of this anniversary, the Turkish Ambassador to Mongolia Mr. Ahmet Yazal reported about the development of bilateral relations and cooperation. As a result the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will pay a visit to Mongolia soon. From Mongolia, Speaker of the Mongolian Parliament and Minister of Defense visited Turkey as well. Furthermore, cooperation in the education sector has been expanded. Specifically, several Turkish universities started cooperating with Mongolian universities and colleges. The Institute of Turkic Studies, which is committed to studying historical and cultural relations between the two countries and their heritages, was established at the National University of Mongolia. In addition, the sides plan to establish a museum based on the monument of Tonyukuk in the Nalaikh district of UB city. Trade turnover between Mongolia and Turkey was estimated at about 44 million US dollars last year.
