The Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation is taking place in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on October 17-20, 2023. On the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Forum, President of Mongolia Khurelsukh Ukhnaa met with President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People on October 19, 2023. The two Heads of State discussed ways to expand the Mongolia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas. The two sides reaffirmed that relations between Mongolia and the PRC are a priority of the foreign policies of the two countries. They also concurred that the relations and cooperation between the two countries have advanced based on mutual respect for each other's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and paths to development chosen by the two countries and their peoples, and on supporting each other on issues pertaining to fundamental interests and matters of importance for the two countries. The two Presidents noted that Mongolia and the PRC have been collaborating within the framework of the United Nations and other international organizations and expressed their commitment to elevating traditional mutually beneficial cooperation in the multilateral fora. At the Meeting, the two parties exchanged views on some issues of international relations.
