Medicine to cure hepatitis C virus is provided. The Harvoni tablet is sold at a special sale price in Mongolia according to the MoU, which was signed between the Ministry of Health and Sport and the producing company in 2015. There are currently 200,000 HCV patients in Mongolia. Also, 52,000 of them suffer from chronic hepatitis and they require special treatment. Therefore, the Ministry of Health and Sport decided to provide first consignment of the medicine to these 52,000 patients. The medicine Harvoni contains a combination of antiviral medications that prevent hepatitis C virus (HCV) cells from multiplying in human body.
