The 10th regular meeting of the Joint Committee between the Governments of Mongolia and the Republic of Korea was held in Seoul on October 30. During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the development of bilateral relations and cooperation across all sectors within the framework of their Strategic Partnership. They highlighted that the Joint Declaration adopted during the State Visit of President of the Republic of Korea Lee Jae Myung to Mongolia on July 9–11, 2026, which set out a shared commitment to usher in a golden age in bilateral relations, had provided significant momentum for elevating cooperation to a new level. The sides reaffirmed their commitment to working closely to translate the agreements reached during the state visit into concrete action, increase trade and investment, and accelerate ongoing projects and programmes in healthcare, mining, culture, education, the environment, agriculture, infrastructure and urban development. They also exchanged views on opportunities to further expand and strengthen bilateral cooperation. The two sides also discussed ways to address difficulties faced by Mongolian citizens when applying for visas to travel to the Republic of Korea, jointly implement the Roadmap, establish a dialogue mechanism on immigration issues in 2026, and make tangible progress towards gradually easing visa requirements.
