Mongolia to strengthen relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Mongolia to strengthen relations with the International Atomic Energy Agency. A middle-term technical cooperation program will be co-implemented between Mongolia’s government and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The middle-term technical cooperation program aims to determine priority spheres and directions of the social and economic short- and middle-term development between Mongolia and the IAEA.  The program also becomes a basis for formulating concepts of the bilateral technical cooperation. The middle-term technical cooperation program will be implemented with a financing from the IAEA until 2019. Under the technical cooperation, it will upgrade techniques and facilities utilized in the state-run and scientific organizations for health, nuclear and radioactive control, agriculture, environment, geo ecology, nuclear physics, geology, mining and industrial sectors. Since 1973, Mongolia and the IAEA have co-realized 63 projects with over 13 million USD.
