Provincial hospitals are modernized. Some hospitals of southern provinces received six types of facilities in frames of the “E-health” project. Also the diagnosis and treatment centers are equipped with 23 types of facilities. Within the “E-health” project, over 112 health organizations will be given 23 kinds of medical equipment, and 48 software of E-hospital. The “E-health” project financed by the World Bank aims to contribute to the Government of Mongolia's efforts to utilize public sector resources more effectively in the health sector in a context where there are competing policy priorities. Rapid economic growth and the potential for large revenue flows are being tempered by the need to maintain fiscal prudence and stability, and weaknesses in the health system are contributing to inefficient, inequitable and poor quality services, thus preventing the sector from effectively addressing emerging needs.
