Historical epic is performed. Full version of the historical epic poem called “The black wrestler, 70 thousand year-old Dovon” is presented to the public at the Bogd Khan’s Palace Museum in Mongolia’s capital, UB. Traditionally, that epic poem is performed to bring peace and good luck, as well as to protect from misfortune, curse and death. The performance of the epic “The black wrestler, 70 thousand year-old Dovon” continues for 24 hours. Epic telling is the most extensive popular oral literature, which can be found in all Mongolian ethnic groups, especially in Mongolia’s western Altai mountain region. It is usually intoned in autumn and winter, concerning many different rituals such as requesting child and wealth from heaven.
