Meat industry is supported. Mongolia’s Ministry of Food and Agriculture reported that the ministry is working with the goal to develop cattle and sheep husbandry to increase meat exports. Through the report, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture operated with the intention to increase meat reserves and to export it. The ministry has budgeted 40 million USD for creating meat reserves and 50 million USD for exporting meat. In 2014, Mongolia exported meat to only one region of Russia. Currently, Ministry initiated a contract to export meat to eight regions of Russia, and will also export processed meat to China and South Korea. The Ministry of Food and Agriculture also implements projects to introduce advanced fertilizer technology for plantation, meet the demand for crop seeds domestically and to introduce soil-processing technology. The government of Mongolia willing to support production of national meat products that can replace imported goods, and limit importation and production of products harmful to human health. The livestock census of 2015 showed that Mongolia’s livestock population reached 56 million.
