Herders to be supported by government action. The Government of Mongolia approved a “Good Herder” program in order to improve the productivity of livestock husbandry and increase income for herders. The “Good Herder” program aims to introduce advanced technology to local animal husbandry and to expand access to financial services at all levels, from primary production to final delivery to customers. Under the program, the Government plans to improve the market compatibility of animal products by enhancing productivity and improving income generation and living standards of farmers and herders by increasing export of livestock products.
