Traditional Mongolian medicine museum opens. The public museum aims to highlight Mongolia’s contributions to medical science and to preserve, protect, and promote Mongolian traditional medicine. It displays some 300 types of herbs and approximately 700 tools used by ancient Mongolian doctors. The museum will provide the opportunity to practice and study the traditional medicine and having studied the traditional medicine based on evidence would add another option to help healing illnesses. Scientists believe that Mongolian traditional medicine dates back 5,000 years ago and among the exhibits is a 1,000 year old venesection tool, an instrument that is used around the world until now.
