Renewable energy preparedness report is produced. According to it, some 15 thousand terawatt/hour electric power can be produced annually using solar and wind energy. Only 93 gegawatt/hour power was produced by wind-farm in 2015. As of today, renewable energy produces only up to seven percent of all power supply. Share of renewable energy in the total power production is planned to reach 20 percent by 2023, as indicated in the Concept of Green Development and the Law on Energy Saving. The Mongolian Ministry of Energy and National Renewable Energy Center plans commencing utilization of wind and solar energy of the Gobi.
