Investigating possibilities of launching open direct flight to USA. Mongolian national flag carrier--the Mongolian Airlines (MIAT) and the Civil Aviation Authority has commenced works to be passed by the Federal Aviation Administration for being included in the CAT-1 category. Included in the CAT-1 category, Mongolian national airlines will perform scheduled flights to the USA and have own codes. It is part of Mongolia’s this year’s plan to launch several direct flights including to Busan of South Korea, Astana, and New Delhi. Mongolia so far conducts direct flights to Istanbul, Seoul, Moscow, Berlin, Frankfurt, Beijing and Hong Kong.
