Water sanitation promoted. Ford Conservation and Environmental Grants in Mongolia awarded 20,000 USD for a project on water conservation. The project is initiated by WaSH Action of Mongolia which is working to solve sanitation and hygiene problems in ger traditional dwelling areas. The grant aims to support environmental health by improving safe drinking water and sanitation of families and schools in the capital city’s western peri-urban ger areas. The grant will help raise awareness of schoolchildren of water consumption and ensure drinking water supply at schools. Ford Conservation and Environmental Grants have been awarded to six environmental projects in Mongolia since its implementation in 2012.
