Nalaikh coal mine to be modernized
Local “Sumber Khudag” LLC conducted a thorough exploration of the southwest area of the Nalaikh coal field, and developed a feasibility study for underground mining.
Local “Sumber Khudag” LLC conducted a thorough exploration of the southwest area of the Nalaikh coal field, and developed a feasibility study for underground mining. The Government decree of 2013 obliged related authorities to identify significant coal deposits in Nalaikh and investigate possibilities of establishing underground mining. "Sumber Khudag" LLC did the required exploration and concludes that the underground mining is expected to create some 700 new jobs, mine 700-1000 tons of coal annually, and contribute 1.5-2 million USD to the local budget. Currently there are 35 special coal mining licenses in Nalaikh, however these are seasonal and confront some safety and hygiene issues.
