Remains of suspected female of Turkic origin are found in the Altai Mountains of western Mongolia. The excavation is being hailed as the first complete Turkic- burial found in Central Asia. The grave of approximately 1,500 years old ancient human remains wrapped in felt was three meters deep, and the cool temperatures helped to preserve the remains. A local museum archeologist told: “The person was not from elite, and is believed to be a woman, because there was no bow in the tomb. It was the first complete Turkic burial found in Mongolia - and probably in Central Asia” told the local archeologist. The mummy's grave there were found a saddle, bridle, some household utensils, some national clothes and other things which would help form a deeper understanding of the native Turks in ancient Mongolia. The finds also show that the people were very skilled craftsmen and craft skills were well developed 1500 years ago.
