Mongolia plans to become renewable energy exporter

The “Shivee Energy” project is one of the planned governmental projects to increase energy production. Once successfully started the “Shivee Energy” project, Mongolia would be able to export value-added and ready products, not raw coal, stated Mongolian Minister of Energy Mr D.Zorigt at a consultative meeting on the project’s preliminary feasibility studies which was held in Ulaanbaatar.

The “Shivee Energy” project is one of the planned governmental projects to increase energy production. Once successfully started the “Shivee Energy” project, Mongolia would be able to export value-added and ready products, not raw coal, stated Mongolian Minister of Energy Mr D.Zorigt at a consultative meeting on the project’s preliminary feasibility studies which was held in Ulaanbaatar. A power station, a wind farm and a solar energy station will be constructed. Shivee Ovoo’s deposit is estimated to have the reserve of 2,708.0 million tons of coal. 3.5 thousand permanent vacancies will be created, and 20 thousand people will be provided with jobs during an implementation of the project, which is co-managed by a unit of the “Shivee Energy” project unit and the “State Grid” Group of China (State Grid Corporation of China), the Minister said.
