ADB is to help develop Mongolian urbanization. Mongolian cabinet discussed bills on ratifying credit agreements to be established with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on implementing a regional project on improving border services and on additional financing for a project on developing urban areas in southeastern Gobi region and borders. The fresh loan will finance new wastewater treatment plants which will meet government standards for discharge, including reusing sewage effluent. Further support for building know-how and institutional reforms will be provided for public utility service organizations in towns, resulting in improved planning, management, and cost recovery for services. In frames of the project for upgrading border services, facilities and buildings of the border checkpoints and their automatic information system will be renewed. Moreover, preparations will be performed for one-window system of external trade.
