Mongolian actor is awarded Nikkei Asia Prize. This year the Nikkei Asia Prizes have been awarded to two individuals and a foundation for supporting education by nourishing children, researching innovative materials and promoting democracy. Mongolian actor and singer D.Sosorbaram was selected a laureate of the Nikkei Asia Prize 2016 for promoting democracy. Sosorbaram was a key figure in the pro-democracy movement of the 1990s. Majored in theatrical performance, Sosorbaram helped usher his country toward democracy through art. Well-versed in both culture and politics, Sosorbaram is keeping a close eye on where Mongolia is heading. He continues to stress the importance of freedom and strives to pass artistic traditions to the younger generation.
