Mongolia-born wrestler Hakuho sets another record. Hakuho moved to the top of the list for victories in the uppermost makuuchi division, chalking up win No. 880 by forcing out No. 1 maegashira Takarafuji, the second day of the Summer Grand Tournament. Hakuho, already the record holder for the most career makuuchi titles with 36, had tied the record of 879 wins held by former ozeki Kaio. Making his debut in 2001, Hakuho reached the top makuuchi division in 2004. In 2007 at the age of 22 Hakuho became the second native of Mongolia, and the fourth non-Japanese overall, to be promoted to the highest rank in sumo, yokozuna.
