May 18 celebrates International Museum Day.
May 18 celebrates International Museum Day. In Mongolia, the Day has been celebrated since 1998 an occasion to raise awareness on how important museums are in the development of society. This year the event celebrates the theme “Museums and Cultural Landscapes.” In this scope public lectures were organized on International Museum Day, on some significant cultural heritages of Mongolia like rock paintings and deer stones, on traditional puzzles and ankle bone games. Quizzes were organized among museum visitors on this year’s Museum Day theme “Museums and Cultural Landscapes” and winners were presented some souvenirs featuring museum exhibits.
