10th International Mongolian Studies Conference held in Washington. While opening the event, Ambassador Altangerel Bulgaa emphasized that “people’s diplomacy has been playing essential role in development and promotion of comprehensive relations and partnership between Mongolia and the United States.” The International Mongolian Studies Conference discussed religion, traditional medicine, calendar system, history and archives, language and literature, translations, culture and education. Participating scholars and researchers presented 15 papers on the named themes. He underlined the importance of the activities being made in the U.S. to promote history, language and culture, customs and traditions of Mongolia. The Ambassador also highlighted the Mongolian government’s call for intensifying Mongolian studies internationally, promoting Mongolian studies overseas, preparing the next generation of Mongolists and strengthening the cultural and language immunity of Mongols.
