Mongolia will take part in Altargana 2016 festival. International Buryat national festival Altargana is held every two years and this year’s festival which is 12th to date will be held in Buryatia of the Russian Federation next month. The "Altargana" International Festival aims to preserve, protect and promote the culture and customs of the Buryat people. The previous festival Altargana 2014 was held in Khentii province in eastern Mongolia. Altargana 2016 expects to gather together some 40,000 Buryats representing the total of more than 600,000 Buryats living throughout the world. The festival agenda includes 14 art and culture events and six sports competitions.
