Ulaanbaatar Ensemble to present ‘The Rite of Spring’ ballet. “The Rite of Spring” ballet by I. F. Stravinsky will be performed by Ulaanbaatar Ensemble next week. Ulaanbaatar Ensemble will perform “The Rite of Spring” with the 24-member national choir group Khangarid. “The Rite of Spring” is widely considered to be one of the most influential musical works of the 20th century. It was written for the 1913 Paris season of Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes Company. When first performed in 1913, the avant-garde nature of the music and choreography caused sensation and a near-riot in the audience.
