Mongolia exported 4000 tons of cashmere in the first quarter of this year.

Mongolia exported 4000 tons of cashmere in the first quarter of this year. 52 tons of the export was combed cashmere and most of it was exported to Italy, UK, India and Japan. The value of the exported combed cashmere is 3.6 million USD which is less than past year. In May past year, Mongolia exported 2000 tons of combed cashmere to China but not this year, despite raw cashmere is still on exports to the southern neighbor. According to the Law on Exchange of agricultural products and raw materials, the raw materials must be traded through the Agricultural stock exchange. Since January of this year, over 1600 tons of raw cashmere was traded.
