Leaders held plenary sessions at ASEM11 Summit
After the opening ceremony for the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM11) Summit, the leaders entered two plenary sessions in Shangri-La. The first session was themed “Two Decades of Partnership: Taking Stock and Looking Ahead”, and the heads of ASEM partners reviewed political dialogues, economic cooperation, socio-cultural exchanges and collaboration over the last 20 years. The delegates also focused on shaping the ASEM vision and mapping the next decade.
The second session, held under the theme of “Promoting ASEM Partnership for Greater Connectivity”, focused on developing the soft and hard connectivity between Asia and Europe. The outcomes of the two panel session will be reflected in the final documents of the Summit.
