Liver transplantation surgery is planned in Mongolia. 14 types of medical equipment required for liver transplantation will be supplied to the National cancer center of Mongolia. Liver transplantation surgery will able to be performed on people with liver cancer and cirrhosis. The capital city municipality and the National cancer center have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on prevention of liver disease, the vital health problem in the country, and on improving the public health education. Liver cancer is the most vital health problem in Mongolia. During the past one and a half year, some 160 patients with liver cancer took liver transplantation surgery in India and South Korea. With required equipment supplied the National cancer center plans to perform the first liver transplant surgery before the end of this year.
