Mongolian students receive scholarships. 21 Mongolian students are awarded scholarships from OyuTolgoi Company for the academic year 2016-2017. Since its establishment OyuTolgoi has been providing scholarships to help develop the next generation of Mongolia’s talent in mining and related fields, laying the foundation for future excellence. Speaking at the scholarship awarding ceremony Michael Gavin, General Manager of the company said OyuTolgoi believes that investing in developing Mongolian talent is the best way to realize the company’s vision to create enduring value, knowledge and skill from natural resource. This is a crucial part of the company’s efforts to develop the future leaders who will lead the mining industry in Mongolia, and the world over. The 21 recipients for the 2016-17 domestic scholarships come from across the leading educational institutions of Mongolia.The 2016-17 scholarships represent a continuation of the program after the completion of the five-year MoU between the Ministry of Education and OyuTolgoi. Between 2010 and 2015, OyuTolgoi has invested approximately US$126mn for the implementation of 5-year master plan.
