According to the census conducted at the end of the past year, the number of livestock animals increased by 5.6 million compared with that of the previous year.

Mongolia’s livestock population reached 61.5 million. According to the census conducted at the end of the past year, the number of livestock animals increased by 5.6 million compared with that of the previous year. More than 45 percent of all livestock are sheep, some 41 percent are goats and more than 6 percent are cattle. According to the census, there are 223,700 herder households with livestock animals, which means 7.5 percent increase compared to the previous year.
