April 2 celebrated an International Children’s Book day worldwide as well as in Mongolia. The 212th anniversary of birth of Hans Christian Andersen, who is respected as a king of fairytales, falls on April 2. The day is annually celebrated annually at Children’s Book Palace in Ulaanbaatar involving young readers. This year, the International Children's Book Day featured a ceremony to hand over 300 books, including the best of the world classics and Chinese classic children’s books, to the Children’s Book Palace. The books were sent from Taiwanese children. Also, children’s book writers' greetings, children’s puppet play and other arts performances were held.
