It is considered that the existence of the quarry next to the river, which flows through the heart of the Mongolian capital, contravenes the rights of citizens. All eleven companies based along the banks of the River Tuul will be affected by this new law. In 2016, Mongolian law enforcement officers suspended the operational permits of four companies and imposed fines in excess of MNT 20 million for re-cultivation.
