UNICEF Mongolia celebrates 25th anniversary
A meeting on the occasion 70th anniversary of establishment of United Nations Children's Fund and the 25th anniversary of the foundation of UNICEF representative office in Mongolia took place in UB.
UNICEF Mongolia celebrates 25th anniversary. A meeting on the occasion 70th anniversary of the establishment of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the 25th anniversary of the foundation of UNICEF representative office in Mongolia took place in Ulaanbaatar. In her opening speech Deputy Health Minister L.Byambasuren underlined the close cooperation between the Mongolia’s Ministry of Health and UNICEF and appreciated the UNICEF’s great contribution made to the health sector of Mongolia. Mongolia had achieved Millennium Development Goals and its population has already reached 3 million and healthy and public safe living conditions are ensured as a result of long-term and multilateral cooperation on maternal and child health, reproductive health, immunization said the Deputy Health Minister. Ministry of Health is working together with UNICEF to implement Government’s actions to toward better infant health care, especially of targeted group and food safety, sustainable water supply and improved sanitation facilities. Furthermore, the Deputy Health Minister briefly informed about works to be done for the next 5 years with the UNICEF in various ranges, such as maternal and child health and nutrition, teenagers' health, sexually transmitted infections, reproductive health, immunization, water supply, sanitation, hygiene and air pollution.
