In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Mongolia diplomatic relations, the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar hosted members of the Philadelphia Orchestra for 4 days in Mongolia.
“Friendship melodies” concert celebrated 30 years of partnership between Mongolia and the USA. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of U.S.-Mongolia diplomatic relations, the U.S. Embassy in Ulaanbaatar hosted members of the Philadelphia Orchestra for 4 days in Mongolia. The Philadelphia Orchestra is one of the world’s preeminent orchestras, renowned for its distinctive sound, high level of artistic quality, and ability to create powerful musical experiences for audiences in the United States and around the world. Through concerts, tours, residencies, presentations, and recordings, the Philadelphia Orchestra is a global ambassador for the city of Philadelphia and for the United States. During their visit to Mongolia, members of the Philadelphia Orchestra interacted with professional musicians, youth, leading figures of the cultural community, and the public. The visit’s highlight was a free public concert on June 3 at the Mongolian State Philharmonic concert hall. Mongolia and the USA established the diplomatic relations in 1987.
