Sand Festival to be organized in Mongolia. A sand festival will be held in southwestern Gobi-Altai province for two days at the end of July. The sand festival is held every year in order to develop sand sports based on the great sand dunes of the region combined with Lake Ereen and to create a new brand of tourism destination and products for foreign and domestic tourists, travellers and holidaymakers. During the festival, an exhibition of 'Made in Mongolia' products for tourists, and sport competitions namely, sand volleyball, a relay race to the mountain top, sandboarding, sand sumo wrestling, a polo match, anklebone shooting, children’s wrestling, and colt racing will be held.
