Mongolian studies to be promoted well. President Kh.Battulga met with Mongolists who attended an international academic conference on Ganjuur studies, which took place under the name of ‘The ‘Buddha’s Teaching: The Study of Mongolian Ganjuur’ in Ulaanbaatar. The Ganjuur is said to have been written by Mongolians in 1819 on black paper with inks made from nine precious jewels, namely gold, silver, coral, pearl, mother of pearl, turquoise, lapis lazuli, copper and steel. The Mongolian government listed the Ganjuur as a rare religious and cultural heritage in 2002 and it was entered into UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register in 2013. “As President, I have an intention to promote Mongolian studies”, said President Kh.Battulga who is also the Deputy President of International Association for Mongolian Studies. The President spoke of his vision to advance Mongolian studies abroad with Asia, Europe and the US as the major regions, and organise annual contests among international Mongolists.
