Annual eagle festival held
The 18th Eagle Festival held in Bayan-Ulgii province.
The 18th Eagle Festival was held in Bugat soum of Bayan-Ulgii province, in western Mongolia. Some 100 eagle trainers from 10 soums of the province participated in the annual traditional festival which maintains the heritage and demonstrated eagle trainers’ and the birds’ skills. The Eagle festival-2017 featured various contests including the best dressed eagle trainer with decorated horse, calling eagle from distance, catching stuffed dead animal, live prey hunt and traditional game of Kazakh people, Kokpar- goatskin tug of war on horseback. The festival was attended by some 750 foreign tourists.
