Peacekeepers awarded. A ceremony for presenting Medals for Peace to the 5th Contingent of Mongolian Peacekeepers commanded by Lieutenant Colonel B.Chinzorig, who completed their mission in the Decisive Support operation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, took place in the Palace of Officers. Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel B.Chinzorig, the 5th Contingent of more than 100 personnel has been applauded many times by the military base command in recognition of successful completion of their duties to ensure the security of the military base. The US Ambassador to Mongolia, Ms Galt has personally welcomed them at the airport to extend her gratitude. Militants of the Mongolian Armed Forces served in peacekeeping operations in Iraq, Kosovo, Chad, Sierra Leone, and have been serving in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of South Sudan and the Republic of the Sudan.
