JICA hands over fire-fighting equipment to NEMA
The experts have implemented training program to NEMA engineers for the proper maintenance and operation methods of the fire-fighting utilities.
JICA has been closely cooperating with NEMA since 2001 and fire-fighting equipment provision has been realized through the Follow-Up Cooperation on the Project for Improvement of Fire Fighting Equipment and Maintenance Workshop. The purpose of the project is to improve the function of fire-fighting vehicles which were granted in the Project for Improvement of Fire Fighting Equipment and Maintenance Workshop (2001). In the follow-up cooperation, the spare parts urgently needed for pumper trucks, water tanks, floodlight vehicles, fire ladder trucks etc. have been granted to Government of Mongolia. In addition, as a part of above-mentioned project, technical experts have been dispatched to Mongolia for installing delicate parts in the firefighting cars. The experts also have implemented training program to NEMA engineers for the proper maintenance and operation methods of the fire-fighting utilities, says JICA press release. Taking full advantage of the follow-up cooperation, more sustainable and efficient use of the fire-fighting vehicles is expected.
