Etugen Mongolian folksong ensemble of western Zavkhan province performed at the 8th International song and dance festival held in New Delhi. The Mongolian ensemble received gratitude from the artists participated from Kazakhstan, Israel, Latvia, Republic of South Africa, Syria, Shri Lanka and Federal Republic of Germany, and viewers, art critics, and diplomats in New Delhi. The Etugen ensemble is known for their performances of playing horse-head fiddle, traditional Mongolian bowed stringed instrument and khuumii or throat singing, a particular variant of overtone singing practiced by people in Mongolia and other related nations. Mr. Ganbold. G, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to India, congratulated on Indian Council of Cultural Relations of the Government of India for organizing the 8th International song and dance festival successfully and international participants as well as Etugen ensemble for representing Mongolia by showing Mongolians’ talent.
