Invaluable exhibits including the Bogd Khaan’s cup gifted from the Manchu King, stove made of sandalwood during the Uigur period, applique masterpieces, the Queen’s jewelry and religious items created by Mongolian craftsmen are on display. The Bogd Khan or Jebtsundamba Khutuktu was the 8th incarnational spiritual leader of Buddhism in Mongolia. He then was enthroned as Khagan of Mongolia in 1911, when Outer Mongolia declared independence from the Qing dynasty after the Xinhai Revolution. One artifact which captures a great attention of the visitors is the state oracle and brother of the Bogd Khan - Choijin Lama’s sword which was knotted by spiritual power. Museum archivist Gunchin-Ish.Ts said that the eighth Bogd Jebtsundamba ordered the invocation of the Buddhist protector deities on the auspicious day of each lunar month. It has been said that an oracle knotted the sword to protect all living beings existing in forms of visible, invisible, shaped, shapeless and in upper and lower realms from the five delusive poisons. When an Oracle summons guardian spirit into his body, he gets to looks like a fierce deity and becomes very strong and as a result, can knot steel sword with inner spiritual power.
