The Universal Postal Union recognized that Mongolia’s addressing meets the requirements of S42 standard.

The Universal Postal Union recognized that Mongolia’s addressing meets the requirements of S42 standard. A certificate was awarded to the Postal Services Regulation Department at the Communications Regulatory Commission, during the UPU Postal Operations Council meeting held in Bern, Switzerland. The S42 standard provides country-specific address templates, allowing the customers in Mongolia to receive mails and parcels from any country in the world. Mongolia has submitted 46 address templates transcribed in Latin and Cyrillic alphabets to the UPU data center. The standard plays important role in the reduction of missing and delayed parcels. The UPU first introduced the S42 standard in 2012. Currently, there are 54 S42 compliant countries.
