Green space in capital city to be improved in cooperation with botanical experts

Governor and Mayor of Ulaanbaatar city Amarsaikhan met with the scholars and experts of relevant institute at the Mongolian academy of Sciences. The parties shared views regarding the improvement of the structure and diversity of the green space in Ulaanbaatar, scientific planning, plantation of trees, bushes and grasses based on the best methods and techniques of experts. During the meeting Governor noted that the green area per capita in Ulaanbaatar is 3-4 times lower than the average. Thus, scientific planning is crucial for improvement of green space, he highlighted. He also requested the experts to provide professional advice on best suitable seedlings and plants for the city that can absorb pollutants and grow in harsh conditions. The sides also agreed that the best practices of other countries on environmental rehabilitation should be introduced and green spaces should be improved as well within the multilateral initiative and creative projects aimed at reducing air and soil pollution in the city.
